In these turbulent times it’s a good idea to get back to basics. We all hear over and over again that the greatest asset companies have is their people. This is something that most employers can agree upon. without great people you can’t run a great business. So with this in mind let’s talk about people and what’s important to them. With many economists saying that we’re closer to the end of this economic storm than we are the beginning, it’s time to start thinking about driving your business forward again. It will be your people that enable you to do this.
We know that while money is important to most people, it is not the number one motivator that keeps them working for a specific employer. We hear over and over again that what people are looking for is a great employer who values them and provides them with feedback, support, recognition and growth opportunities. Now is a great time to take a look at the various ways that you this to your employees. Do you have a formal process in place to provide feedback and recognition to your staff? Do you do this consistently? Have you looked at ways to offer learning and growth opportunities to people within your organization? These are the basic things that every employer must have in place in order to attract and retain the best talent in the marketplace. Great people help to create great companies!
